When it's 00:30 and you're hungry and need to wash your hair before going to bed, which do you do first? It's an issue, is what it is.
I had a weird dream last night - I was in a supermarket looking for a sandwich, and I'd found a rack of kosher sandwiches. You could tell they were kosher because they were in sealed packets with a hechsher on them, I think it was the OU. But one of them was a bacon & cheese bagel, which was patently not kosher, yet was carrying a hechsher. I said to a store employee that they really shouldn't have such obviously non-kosher things labelled as kosher, it just wasn't right, and they said what's your problem, it's obviously not kosher, why do you even need to look at the hechsher when it's so obviously not kosher?
