There is a stage during the making of Tefillin Barbies where they have both arms stuck out in front of them, so that I can glue stuff on easily. They creep me out a bit at this stage.

And now they can creep you out too! Imagine them all going "BRAAAAIIIIINNNSSSSS"



I actually think this picture expresses beautifully the feelings of those who are worried that boys' participation in Judaism is declining catastrophically since the introduction of egalitarianism. This is sometimes called "The Boy Crisis In Judaism," or "the feminization of liberal Judaism," a statistical imbalance massively distorted by the fear that hordes of women will descend on everyone and suck out their brains. Or something.

I remember reading an article, although of course I can't remember where or who wrote it, about how many of the 20th-century American feminists were and are Jewish. The author thought that this was because 20th-century American Judaism is so thoroughly egalitarian.

My first reaction is "How very odd." I mean, American Judaism wasn't very egalitarian at all until rather late in the century.

To be fair, numerically Reform Judaism vastly outnumbers the halachic and para-halachic movements in the US. And Reform Judaism has been more egalitarian than the largest American Christian movements for really quite a long time.

2 things:1. I was aenoynd that he used Chuck (the FreeBSD mascot) to show an evil site. That's not your fault. Chuck is a daemon not a demon...sorry that touched a nervewith me :-)2. I checked the paypal thing and also looked at the Versign VIP site. It looks like Ebay and PayPal are still the only two participates in this program with the token. It's interesting that we try to tackle the "problem" by reassuring the men that they're okay. I'd rather see us teaching people that just because women do it doesn't mean it has cooties, but that would be too much like hard work.

Alvin, I like your idea here and I was happy to pay for the Pro app. However it is a waste of money until you do the following:1) Allow imropting from the free version it is INCREDIBLY annoying and time consuming to have to manually add all your photos again.2) Allow exporting to your choice of image site (twitter, photobucket, whatever) and not just batch export via email, which is basically pointless.Also, if you're going to offer support to your users via email or on this site, answer your users' questions.Cheers.
