I love this:

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has closed the lower level of the George Washington Bridge in both directions.

Tractor trailers, motorcycles, and house trailers are urged to seek alternate routes. The upper level of the bridge currently remains open.

It kind of reads like..."Tractor trailers, motorcycles, and house trailers are urged to seek alternate routes. HUGE HINT COMING UP, PEOPLE The upper level of the bridge currently remains open."

Yes, it really means "Small or articulated vehicles should stay the heck off the bridge; cars can still go on the top level" but that's not what it sounds like.

I do very much want to go out and see the bridge (it's so close!)...see if it's swaying in the wind yet. If the lights are still on, it might be rather pretty. But there again, it might be a bit dangerous to do that just now.

I had to go out with the dog...our door is in the lee of a mountain, so not much by way of wind. We'll have to go out again tomorrow morning - I won't have her doing her business inside - so I plan to take the camera. Making a virtue of necessity, etc.
