My poor sweet peas. I planted them out in a bit of the yard I didn't think they mowed, against the wall, facing south.
Turns out they don't mow it, but they strim it, all the way up to the walls. So I looked for the poor sweet peas this morning on my way to shul and saw them not. :( Just a layer of fresh green clippings. So much for that idea.
When planting them out I saved a few, and will grow them in the apartment in pots, up a chunk of wall. I'll have to keep cutting them back from the wire baskets they'll be next to, but oh well. Better than being strimmed.
The geraniums are doing beautifully, and the basils are coming on nicely too. I have CRESS FAIL, cos of failing to water it often enough and it's so flimsy it doesn't take a lot of being dried out to kill it totally dead. Not to worry, I'm more invested in the basil than the cress.
Tomorrow I'm going to write some Torah (<--- look! soferet blog!!) and then nail strings into the wall for the sweet peas to climb up. And then pot them up and put them by the strings and see how they get on.
