Oops. I spent today:

a) having an interesting email conversation about women and tefillin
b) ditto, female clergy
c) seeing my super-duper therapist
d) drafting a post about quills whilst on the subway
e) talking to my Mum
f) food shopping - YAY IT'S CHERRY SEASON YAY HOORAY
g) wandering around outside enjoying the weather
h) dozing, owing to exhaustion brought on by c) and f)
i) making shabbat

But not:
j) WORKING.

Oh well, there goes Sunday. Could be worse, I cleared a lot of jobs this week I'd been needing to clear, little bits of calligraphy commissions and stuff, and I'm still nicely at quota except for today.

My friend SS from shul, the guy I failed to introduce you to when you were here, came bouncing up to me the other day and had found your website and blog, and apparently he's now a big fan! Anyway, I'm glad your day had pleasant stuff if it didn't have productivity.

women and tefillin

Please share your interesting "women and tefillin" email conversation. Why is it that tefillin, of all the mizvot women are exempt from, is the big one - the last one to fall? The one that Jewish women still feel most intimidated from doing? Yet ask any Orthodox rabbi and he'll tell you that Rashi's daughters wore them [don't ask him how he knows this though].
