My SMTP is buggered, so I can't email. Melissa, you should definitely apply for the job. If the other people lose out on getting you because you got another job first, that's their loss. You're an asset, even if you don't see it that way. It's perfectly reasonable not to want to wait around indefinitely for someone to get back to you. In any case, you could probably do both.

I'm working on a hugelong essay, which involves looking up lots and lots of sources. I have lots of them on the computer, which is okay, but at a certain point the computer loses interest and I have to go and look the sources up in the books. For some reason, this is disproportionately less enticing, and it's taking tremendous amounts of effort to keep...on...writing....
