nice evening

...following a rotten morning - I twisted twenty arms last night, and this morning, twenty-four people showed up. And a good many of the original twenty, the ones who'd said "I'll come if I have to - if you're really relying on me," gave me dirty looks, as if to say "You didn't need me at all, I could have stayed in bed" - what am I supposed to do? Lock the door?

But the evening was nicer. I was teaching, and it was pleasant - we've just got on to writing complete words, and we learned about letter spacing within words, and about using a scalpel. It's just struck me that I should give the kid some examples of full pages of text to copy - gosh, I can't believe I didn't think of that earlier - I suck as a teacher - must do some before next week. Wow. But anyway, we had a largely productive lesson, and she asked some good questions.

Then afterwards I was going to help Haviva remember some leyning motifs, but first she had to deal with making kids' suppers, so I helped give the two little ones a bath, which was fun, cos I don't get to hang out with little kids very often. They're very engaging when they're not screaming. Then we did a bit of leyning. And for supper there's aubergine burgers and cheese and tomato sauce. Peaceful. Nice.
