It seems to be a Pesach thing with us - the electricity dies. Yesterday afternoon it all cut out, and after a bit we worked out that something was up with the Shabbat circuit, which has one plug and three lights on it. Well, being without kitchen lights is no fun, so we called an electrician, and he took out the overhead light, and that stopped the circuit tripping, so we figured ok, better two lights than none.

Then I emailed the landlord to tell him that the light had been removed, and what would he like to do about the lack of light. This morning, his response:

"We are surprised that that neon light created a problem"

yeah, you think we weren't surprised? We didn't do ANYTHING to it, not a damn thing. Housemate had just unplugged the microwave, the plug for which, by the way, is completely broken up, with exposed live wires, and very dangerous, but that's on a *different circuit* to the light - go figure.

"just leave it, and we'll deal with it when we come back."

and don't you dare blame us for anything when you get back and deal with it, that's all.

On a different note, we were DONE CLEANING by 6-ish, and just marked time until it was late enough to check for chametz. Go us!
