Finished! This is where I've been for the past few weeks. As livredor so accurately puts it, I have a trail of shattered deadlines behind me, and today it got a bit longer. I have wrestled with it, and it lies beneath my feet.*

It's a Megillat Esther, and it's going to be a surprise present for someone who is learning to read Megillah, commissioned by their significant other. Pretty, innit? Observe the interesting texture of the parchment towards the top of the sheet. Gets that way during processing.

You can also see the big tav, on the left-hand side after the first gap, which is the big tav in "Vetiktov Esther" - same as in my lj icon :) It means "Esther wrote," and it's almost** the only time a woman writes anything in the whole Bible.



* Metaphorically. This is a holy book, after all.
