I went for a very long walk on Saturday, around noon, such that the sun was shining to my left as I was walking down Queens Boulevard, over my head as I was walking under the trees by the cemetery, and on my left again as I returned home. Thus I have sunburn on one side of my neck only. Neck sunburn isn't even useful - whoever looked glamorous with a tanned neck? If it was a leg, at least I could flash the tanned one.
The past two days were Shavuot, a festival normally celebrated by bingeing on study. Do wine-tasters enjoy boozing? I didn't stay up all night studying (it's a big waste of time if your intellect doesn't work after eleven). I went to bed at a sensible time (have I mentioned I love the air-conditioner? I think it merits a name. It's certainly a most beloved member of the household) and during the day looked at pictures of Islamic art for the next ketubah I'm doing, learned a bit of gemara, and read fiction.
