Well, this afternoon was nice. I got a train OUT OF THE CITY! and it wasn't the subway! it was a real train! I went to Mount Vernon, to interview with a sofer called Neil Yerman. He's going to take me on for July and August, which is super. I'm going to work for him, and he's going to teach me. I'll get to learn restoration techniques, and the bigger practical stuff which I don't know yet. 'S very cool.
We talked a bit about him taking me on for next year, but no definite word either way there - the issue is that he'd have to take on enough extra work to cover paying me, and he wants to cut down a bit on the travelling next year. If it seems like I can cover enough work to pay for my keep, I expect that'll swing it.
