On the original topic of the post, a gazelle or a deer that feels trapped and panics about it will often throw itself against the walls of an enclosure until either the wall breaks or the animal beats itself bloody. (This is occasionally cited as the reason deer and gazelle were never domesticated.) Panicking animals are uncool in general.
