It's a very clever piece, but it does seem to be implying that white women have adequate protection from rape, which simply isn't true. This idea that it's possible to be pretty enough, pure enough and docile enough to be worthy of protection is just a chimaera, no woman actually lives up to it. Now, it's perfectly sensible to point out that women of color don't even have that ideal of safety, but I don't think that the existence of the ideal actually does white women any good.
