Having lived at JTS the last 3 years- the sukkah building is only sort of background if you live there- because then you tend to know the staff a bit more, and hear the banging a lot more, and feel awkward that someone who has no obligation to use a sukkah is building yours for you, and it's horrendously elaborate, and they're having to work overtime to do it. I always feel quite guilty about the whole thing. Sorry- just my random gripe. (And then there's my last minute attempt at sukkah building to occur tomorrow. Wish me luck...)
