14 hours in Prague

I have a 14-hour stopver in Prague (from 8am until 6pm). Theoretically, I could go and have a nosey around the city. I'm a bit worried, since I don't know any Czech, and things like buses might be a bit difficult. If I was rich I could just thow dollars at cab drivers. Anyone have any recommendations, either on getting into the city from the airport, or on what to do once one gets there?
