I spend about an hour, hour and a half, on the phone, three nights a week, trying to get twenty people together for the morning. There are a few people who will come no matter what - three, to be exact. That leaves seventeen. So I call people, and they all say the same thing "If you need me to come, I will." Isn't this the definition of a community? We need *everyone*.
Tomorrow is a learning day on the holocaust, since Monday is holocaust day in Israel. The programme looks kinda dull, esp since everyone's had the holocaust jammed down their throats since they were ten years old. You're supposed to feel guilty if you don't care, but honestly, everyone's over-exposed. There's a lecture, a talk, testimony of a survivor, the usual. And they more or less guilt-tripped us into coming, saying the survivor would feel bad if no-one came, etc. Well, here's an idea - don't cancel regular classes and give us a sodding holocaust slide show. Especially after three weeks of vacation. No-one's planning to come, either.
