Another day, another column. Today I wrote the 85th column,* which mostly deals with different combinations of oxen, pits, and slaves and the consequences of the various combinations.
I simply cannot keep my fingers clean. I dip my pen, and then I tap it on the edge of the inkwell to get rid of the excess, and that makes the edge of the inkwell inky, and next time I dip my pen the inky bit on the edge gets on the barrel, just in the place where I hold it. The first three fingers of my right hand are more or less permanently inky. It's perplexing - there must be a better way to do it.
