Reading an article which essentially says that mummies and daddies tend to want their girl toddlers to eat less and be thin and their boy toddlers to eat more and be strong and muscly. Well, okay, it's interesting that people think that even about toddlers. But then:
'"Society holds differential body ideals as a function of gender," the authors wrote. If these current findings are replicated, they concluded, they "may have important repercussions from a clinical standpoint" in understanding how eating disorders may take root.'
Which is really painfully close to stating the bleeding obvious. Society's pressure on girls to be thin can cause them to develop eating disorders? No shit.
