We had two really, really nice shabbat meals this week, out with friends. But nearly everyone at the meals was a couple in their twenties/thirties, which is ever so cliched, and makes me feel elderly.

While I remember, this worked really well: interesting challa substitute for vegans. I roasted four cloves of garlic in olive oil, and mashed them up when they were done, and put them and the oil (which was truly yummy) into a handful of crushed almonds, and about two cups of flour, and 25g live yeast, and two tablespoons of sugar, and it was a yummy Roast Garlic and Almond Loaf, which the vegans liked, but they didn't get much of it, cos everyone else liked it too.
